Do you have a life full of drama and upset? Do you experience a constant stream of upsetting issues…lost jobs, frequent housing moves, conflict-ridden relationships, tumultuous romances? Do you have financial problems and massive credit card debt? Are you worried about losing your home, going bankrupt, or ruining your credit? Does it feel like you will never know peace or love?

How can you leave the life of “drahma” behind and create a life of peace and joy?

1. Decide that making this change will be the most important activity in your life.
2. Decide that you will maintain awareness and consciousness as you assess upcoming decisions to deliberately choose non-dramatic choices.
3. Realize that you have made a lot of self negating choices in the past to create the situation. It will take time and a lot of self validating choices to reverse it.
4. Take a good look at how you have been producing these results. Have you created desperate circumstances, so your choices have been desperate ones? Have you acted abruptly and unwisely in anger, frequently producing even worse circumstances for yourself? Have you created fantasies that you used to drive your choices, only to crash and burn into reality (dead end jobs, relationships and housing)? Have you failed to comprehend how your behavior would impact others…producing detrimental results.
5. If you have a substance abuse problem, realize that this is playing a much larger role in your problems than you realize or acknowledge. Take action on healing this issue in your life.
6. Make a list of all the issues to be handled…those with the greatest potential consequences at the top. Handle one at a time with extreme focus. Don

Replacing windows is a major decision as often it is quite costly and requires a lot of time and effort to complete. Hence, the following article will contain helpful tips if you plan on buying uPVC windows sometime in the near futures.

There are so many options available so that you can be sure to find a design that complements your home and does not look out of place. This is very important when you are using either uPVC and/or aluminum designs as if they do not match the style of your home, they will stand out and often will look silly. Most retailers have a number of design experts that will come out to your home to help you choose the right window.

You should always make sure that you ask the company how long it will take to install the window and how much time is required after purchase before the windows will be installed. You should also make sure that you get the prices of the installation. Although this one sounds fairly obvious, you would be surprised at how many people think that it comes “for free” and get caught out with hidden costs. You need to make sure that you are very well informed when purchasing windows.

There may also be some legal considerations, so before purchasing and installing windows, you want to make sure that you consult your town officials to make sure that you can legally install the type of windows you want where you want.

You should also inquire about whether the window was fully welded or mechanically fixed when manufactured. Mechanical fixing is quite inexpensive, but it is also less sturdy than fully welded windows so you should make sure that you get that information to help you make your decision.

Also, like when purchasing any item, you want to insure that you shop around and do not purchase the first item that you are offered. I’d suggest that you shop at least three or four companies to make sure that you get the exact windows you want at the best price. The credibility of the company is also very important as you want to insure that you are dealing with a reputable company. Hence, we suggest that you ask the company for a list of references and contact the people they mention so that you can get their opinion on the company.

For the most part, maintenance or replacement will not be required with a reputable company as these windows are for the most part, very durable and will last far longer than the 10 year warranty period. However, just in case it is very important that you get all the information you need on the guarantees that the company offers.

These windows are very expensive and as a result, there is a lot you need to consider when shopping for them. The tips above will help greatly in making your window shopping experience far more enjoyable and relaxed. In summary, just make sure that you get all possible information on the windows you are considering and be sure to read all the fine print. Also, you need to make sure to shop around so that you get the best deal possible.

Hard disk partitions are defined by a Partition Table, which is located in MBR (Master Boot Record). The table is examined for partition table entries to determine if the corresponding partition contains a valid file system that can be accessed or mounted for read/write operations. There are several ailments that can corrupt the partition table, thereby resulting into inaccessible or unusable partitions. Consequently, all the data stored in these partitions remain no longer accessible to the user. Thus, you are suggested to always maintain an updated copy of your important data to prevent the outcomes of partition table corruption. However, if you find the backup incompetent or unavailable to restore data, Windows Data Recovery utilities can help you to recover it.

For instance, you might receive the below error message when trying to access a Windows hard disk partition:

Common thinking is that domestic violence is a misfortune that befalls the lower class. We hear about them more, we see more of them, we have public services to care for their needs…but that doesn’t make them in the majority when it comes to domestic abuse.

I would venture to say that we are looking at a relative representation of the population; not a socio-economic indicator of domestic abuse.

Would you know a battered queen if you saw one? Moreover, would you recognize yourself as one if that were indeed the case?

Who Are the Battered Queens?

Battered queens come in all shapes and sizes. They can be doctors, lawyers, movie stars, financial experts…. They may be stay at home moms who drive a Mercedes, manage multiple household employees and spend as much on an outfit as most people spend on a season’s wardrobe.

Spending the family money is often their punishment to their abuser for physical battery, assault and spousal emotional abuse. It’s one of their contributions to the cycle of abuse. They love it and they hate it, at the same time.

They are usually in the largest and most tightly sealed closet, and they represent the biggest elephants under the carpet. Why? Because the implications of their “coming out” can be far more deadly than for others who are battered.

They know their financial privilege is part of their problem and realize their abusive partner has an endless army to draw upon to maintain control. Often times, this is the primary reason they stay in the abusive relationship.

The Risk of Leaving an Abusive Relationship for Battered Queens

Their exits pose extreme risks to themselves and to their children because there is much fuel to feed many extensions of the abuser. So on the way out, the abuse can—and more often than not—multiply exponentially overnight. Many are buried in, and by, the ordeal.

For some there is an inward comfort in knowing that their abuser is preoccupied with abusing them through the courts, rather than taking matters into the streets. The damage they sustain by virtue of their expensive exit out from the abusive relationship can be equally devastating.

Ray of Hope for Battered Queens

If you are a battered queen, know you are not alone. There are services for you, though they will be diamonds in the rough. Further, know you can use your family privilege to aid in your survival if you play your hand wisely. Lastly don’t give up on yourself or on the possibility of breaking-free with your life, liberties and integrity in tack.

The Stuyvesant girls swim team had gone undefeated during the regular season, earning the top seed in the PSAL playoffs. The Penguins had rolled through the first three rounds, defeating each of their opponents by more than 20 points, and they were the defending PSAL champs.

But none of that stopped second-year coach Kristen Sabala and her swimmers from battling their usual case of pregame jitters before Tuesday’s PSAL title meet against fifth-seeded Brooklyn Tech at Lehman College.

“I never say, ‘Oh, well, we definitely have this one,’” she said. “I’m always nervous. What if somebody loses their goggles?”

Not that Sabala needed to worry about anything. Stuyvesant easily defeated Tech, 59-42, in a meet that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score. The Penguins’ victory was so easy that junior Ashley Qian knew her squad had wrapped up its second straight PSAL crown after the diving competition, the fifth event in the 12-event meet.

“There’s always a chance we might not win,” she said. “At the diving part, I was like, ‘We got this.’”

Tech opened the meet by seemingly justifying Sabala’s doubts, winning the 200-yard medley relay behind sophomore Annie Zhu to take a 6-4 lead, but Stuyvesant answered quickly, placing first in three of the next four events. By the time Alyssa Yeo and Diana Hou finished 1-2 in the diving competition, the Penguins had built a solid 27-14 edge.

Brooklyn Tech, a heavy underdog that was swimming in the title meet for the first time in almost 20 years, could feel the competition slipping away.

“We did our best,” Zhu said. “We didn’t even expect to be here.”

Zhu did her best to help the Engineers, winning the 100-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, but she couldn’t match Stuyvesant’s depth. Qian led the 100-yard backstroke and 100 fly races wire-to-wire, and Geyanne Lui and Stephanie Jou finished first and second in the 500-yard freestyle to extend the Penguins’ edge.

Stuyvesant entered the final race, the 400-yard freestyle, with a comfortable 55-36 advantage. The Engineers captured the relay but still finished far behind the defending champions, who are already thinking ahead.

Moments after the Penguins cannonballed themselves back into the pool to celebrate their second straight PSAL crown, Qian was asked about next year’s prospects, and the junior delivered a quick answer: “I guess we’ll just have to win it again.”

Downtown Ronnie Califano calls it “the Radio City of Brooklyn Christmas shows.”

And when the sky-tracking spotlights ignite the heavens over St. Athanasius Church and school on Bay Parkway and 61st St. on Saturday night, Dec. 5, for the annual Christmas fund-raising show produced by Califano, you know that the holidays have officially begun in the Borough of Churches.

“This year, we have an amazing Christmas show of top oldies acts and a dinner, all for $60 a head, or about what it costs for tolls and parking in Manhattan,” says Califano. “The doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 [and goes] to midnight in two separate venues in the same school building. But this is NOT a simulcast. The bands will play live in the school auditorium upstairs and then they will physically rotate into the gymnasium downstairs to play live where the rest of the tables will be set up. We’re expecting over 900 people.”

Each table will boast a tray of delicious sandwiches catered by Basset Caterers, plus trays of salads. A cash bar will serve the thirsty throng all night and volunteers will sell raffles and 50-50s to support this thriving church, where immensely popular Msgr. David Cassato tends a growing flock of old Brooklyn and new immigrants.

Downtown Ronnie, who grew up in these rugged streets but never lost touch with his faith, will present a rocking lineup of acts.

The evening begins with Italian songs by Graziana, and then The Quotations will perform their hit “Imagination,” and a full set, followed by Lenny Dell and the Dimensions singing “Over the Rainbow,” Barbara Harris and the Toys singing “Lover’s Concerto,” Manhattan Skyline doing “Young and in Love,” The Happenings singing “See You in September,” “Go Away Little Girl” and “I Got Rhythm.”

“And if that isn’t enough,” says Califano, “we have Lou Rotondo, former lead singer of The Passions, emceeing the show. He’s gonna do a guest spot with The Chaperones singing ‘Cruise to the Moon,’ and Passions hits like ‘This Is My Love,’ ‘I Only Want You’ and ‘Just To Be With You.’”

This is the music Califano listened to and watched guys sing on street corners and in subway stations as he grew up on the gritty streets of Brooklyn. “That was back when Christmas was the greatest time of the year,” he says. “Everybody dressed to the nines, ate the big fish dinner on Christmas Eve and jammed into midnight Mass that was as crowded as a Subway Series. The church held the neighborhood together.”

Brooklyn has changed dramatically since. A lot of Catholic schools and churches have closed. Some don’t have the imagination or the passion to raise money to survive.
